After being offered $200 for a site that makes $100 a month. And After recieving no buyers for $5 links to a site predicted to go PR6 by the next update. I can't help but say there are no serious buyers here on DP. I think the place for me to go is sitepoint.

Maybe its the way the buy/sell section is run. To many posts. By bargain cheap links, weak sites. Possibly degrading the entire subforum?

I like DP. But the buy/sell section has serious problems.

I don't think you should expect so much on a Sunday night. This is a North American forum, and much of the activity occurs Monday to Friday.

Also, people don't take "predicted PR" quotes seriously. Unless you work for Google, there is no value to saying what something will become, when they're more interested in what it already is right now.

That's my four cents (two cents each).

It's the problem with people, not DP. :)

Weekends are slow and most members here are savvy enough to know that predicated PR is BS.

I would agree that sitepoint is also a good place to list websites for sale, since it costs nothing to also list it here I don't see a problem.

Maybe no one is interested in your site? Have you thought about that?

Nah i haven't. Because it makes money.

My last post was sarcastic. If someone selling a site, had not thought about that they would not be fit to turn a computer on.

The problem is the buy/sell sub forum itself. People only being the cheapest of things. We do have buyers, but they are bargain hunters. Kind of like a $2 store.

Everybody is looking for a bargain, you are right. If you can't sell a site for what you want and you are making money, run the site for a while. As far as the links, predicted means nothing at all.

Maybe you should look at some reasons why the site is not selling, This could be one reason. It says the PR4 you have is forged and Google tool bar shows PR as NA.

There are other reasons, you start an auction starting at $300 but say there is no chance to buy it for less than $3000 and you may not even sell it at that. BIN means buy it now not the lowest you will go. You were aggressive in your tone to questions and then you closed the auction in three hours because you got pissed.

Your screen shot shows total earnings for adsense but how does the buyer know that is just for that site. Who knows how many people are interested in a Cricket site for $3000?

Maybe you should look at yourself and your site and not blame DP for the problems.

I don't really see what the point of this thread is, but anyways.. DP is a very active community, so I guess it's expected.

Just go to SP if you don't like it. Problem solved.

Allout pretty much hit the nail on the head, plus if everything is undervalued here then use it to your advantage, buy here and sell elsewhere for a profit.

Sometimes it's a good thing, i had an 8YO 2 dictionary word .com for sale for under $50 with solid backlinks and a Yahoo listing and said it would probably rise to a PR5.. Highest bid was about $12 so i didn't sell and guess what, the domain went PR6.

Maybe your site will go on to make a fortune, who knows.
