buy PR4 Domain?

I've found a .com domain that you can actually read and is legitimate PR4. Of course this domain isn't cheap for me because I'm not rich man. I've been going crazy over my head because I can't decide if I want to follow up trough this..

I decided to ask more experienced webmasters if they think my plan is a good idea at all. I want to buy the domain and make a proxy site. My idea was that since it is aged (4 years), and if I optimize it for a few long tail keywords that have to do with "proxy" maybe it can rank well and pay back for it self. Does anyone think it's too late and the competition is way to condensed in the proxy business? I decided to wait another day before I make the purchase because I need someone else opinion.

Thank you in advance! Any advice helps.

I might not be that experienced webmaster you are seeking an advice from but I have to say 2 things:
    (i) I think PR is over rated and it's a good catch to ask $$ for the name, but traffic and business wise I don't think it's that important since you can start from scratch and get a fresh domain to that PR with some quality link building and such.
(ii) Do you have plans to make some revenues and cover the expense of buying a high PR website? I'm not sure but I think adsense and such is not allowed on proxy websites? what other alternatives do you have?

    Good luck

    (i) I know that it takes a few months for a site to get indexed and that if a new site starts building links too quickly, it gets sandboxed. So I know that the age of the domain is an advantage, but I'm you might be right about the PR.

(ii) I know for fact that adsense is allowed on proxy site front page, but not the browsing pages. As for alternatives for the internal browsing pages, I read that xTend Media does well with proxy sites, even though I've never even tried them. I think that ads are going to be my only way to cover the cost.

So do you think it's a good idea or not? I need some advice because I am very very new and I don't want to waste my hard earned money.

If you want buy to sell that domain name and consider it as subject of investment that could be good idea so far. But if you are going to open you own new web site I suppose that is not good idea at all.

I think PR is overrated too, look at other factors for deciding whether to buy it not, not solely at PR.

If the price is more than $200,then i would say forget about it.
Since proxy website is getting blocked everyday its not worth for the money.

It could work. Give it a try and if it doesn't work try something else.
