Godaddy offers low cost domain names and they are fine as domain registrar. However they aren't cheap. There are many other registrars that offer cheaper domain registration.
Cheapest is not always the best solution. I suggest if your serious go and register at name.com All domains are easily managed and there is a free whois protection to. Recommended A+ Godaddy is certainly reputable but harder to control your domain. Its just a matter of a few cents difference so don't make the wrong choice GL

what do people mean when they say its easier to manage a domain using so and so. Once u get a domain all u have to do is change the DNS maybe once in while if u move hosts (and its pretty easy to do that with any domain registrar- I've used godaddy and namecheap ). Other than that what is there to managing domains ?
yeah, you are right, so i use them both, Godaddy and name.com. you cannot put all your eggs in one basket only.
It seems GoDaddy has sold there old script and got a new one. There are tons of sites that look just like GoDaddy use to look like and have some bogus prices, first 20 pages on Google, they really piss me off. But yeah, use GoDaddy with coupon code "GEO199" without quotes and get a domain for $1.99
