I know how to buy domain names But how do i resell them, i mean if i want to start a "business" of buying domain names and then resell them for profits. Do i just edit the register names from my domain provider or email my provider telling them to transfer the domain to another person ? Any help would be appreciated.
Domain names can be "pushed" freely without any charge to any person who has an account with your domain registrar. To push domain names to another registrar you have to obtain authentication code and the buyer has to pay certain amt of fees for transfer. procedures vary with different registrars. There are options/settings in your domain control panel in your registrar's account which lets you do all these.
well you can do two options, 1)Invest in domains: you purchase the domain you think that will sell, and when someone has an interest in the name you own then you can eaither transfer the domain to their registrar or push the domain to a different account within your same registrar. depending on the price of the domain you might need to utilize escrow service to ensure that funds are received against the domain ownership change. 2)Resell Domains: which is that you become a domain reseller and provide domain registrations to your customers, depending on which program you choose you have an option to setup your markup on the domains based on your marketing plans/promos etc.. Patience is a virtue, but it is a tough business, and you NEED to have quality inventory to succeed. Example: Months ago, I posted a slew of domains on the forums for sale that we have had for years..all niche keywords, .com's..etc. Everyone on the forums blasted my prices, which I knew to be low, but still higher than the average $20 crap that trades back and forth on forums. Long story short...sold 2 of them, (which I posted for hundreds) for $5k ea. recently. You have to be patient and have alternative sources of income until the right buyer comes along.
