That is very interesting, and thanks for posting it.

However, my recent experiments with expired domains appear to completely contradict GoogleGuy's claims.

If the expired domains I've purchased don't explain my increased Google referral's, then I am at a loss to explain my approximately eight thousand new visitors a day. :)

It's interesting that GG claims "the authority for a domain will be reset when a domain expires", because "authority" is something we can't see. We can all plainly see that PR does not reset when a domain expires.

Valid point there, to be honest I dont really buy dropped domains with PR, therefore I havent exactly drawn my own conclusions. One of the interesting things about the article, is that its from 2005, therefore I am sure Google have probably enchanced/ changed many aspects involving expired domains.

I believe whatever trust Google has with the domain is reset, as for example someone could use the domain and use it for anything, and I am sure Google really dont want to trust anything, as it may be agaisnt there Google webmaster guidelines, or offensive content. If the backlinks are still there, the PR obviously remains, as it would be weird for a domain with 2k of backlinks to have a PR of 0, unless if hasnt been put through the quartely change for example. However I am thinking that a different aspect thats links past, such as trust or something else only Google knows about expires, hence why the PR remains and the PR from each link is still being past to the domain.

And to think I didnt know what PR or SEO was abbreviated for this time last year, or that it even existed sure learnt alot :)

Anyway thats one of my theorys, seems logical to me, but thats me lol.

Edit: Sorry for double post :(
