You do not need to buy for eg if you have thegermz.com, you can simply create www3.thegermz.com. It is a subdomain and it is yours as long as you have the domain thegermz.com. You can create ***.thegermz.com whenever you need or want.
http://www3.interscience.wiley.com/cgi-bin/home?CRETRY=1&SRETRY=0 What about that one? it already has a subdomain... so if I type http://www.www3.interscience.wiley.com/cgi-bin/home?CRETRY=1&SRETRY=0 It doesn't work.
Once you have a domain name, you can create (host capable of course) any sub domains as you want. www, www3.domain.com, www4.domain.com, fubar.domain.com... Alot of blog/social networking sites use that as an additional way to access individual members content. You can also go further than 3 deep, so you could have www3.www2.domain.com I do not know how deep you can go before something breaks though. -Jason
I don't get it... I have a domain, I can add subdomains but if I add www3 as a subdomain the way to access it it would either be www3.thegermz.com or http://www.www3.thegermz.com... I'm like completely confused and I'm usually very good at this. Because meebo has www34.meebo.com and my school's computer program has meebo, and meebo's subdomains blocked so how is it that with the 34 I can access? also in order to get in with the 34 it has to have a https. So https://www34.meebo.com
If you add www3 and www.www3 you can access both www3.thegermz.com or http://www.www3.thegermz.com For https://www34.meebo.com , you will need an SSL cert, try a self signed SSL cert
