Buy a name to forward to a page?

Hi. Imagine you have the domain oranges.com (wouldn't that be nice!). Your site does well, and has sub pages for each type of apple especially the page for "navel oranges".

Now the name naveloranges.com comes up, and you see that this set of keywords has moderate traffic like 5000/month.

Will it benefit you to buy it and forward it to your page on those oranges?

Or do you really have to build a brand new site around it to get much benefit?

    Thanks!

If anyone else buys it your page may get affected. But for your protection, you can just forward it/ use iframe to point to main site. So you traffic stays well.

if anyone else gets it, they can make something similar to your page and because of keyword of domain, your traffic can get lower.

I don't mean I am right. But this is just my suggestion. If i am wrong, i am willing to learn ;)
