Buy a domain from which you contact the owner

    Hello Everyone,

I'm currently having a hard time trying to contact the owner of a .com domain that I want to buy.
The big problem is, that the owner of the domain is virtually dead.
    In other words, I can't contact him/her.
The owner of the domain lives in Taiwan, and the company that registered the domain is also not responding to my emails.

    What can I do?

The homepage of the company is down, ( IIS error page in Taiwan language ), and no-one is responding by mail.

Is there a way to get the domain anyway?

    Thanks,

    Adstracker.

Good luck, what I would do is wait place a backorder on the domain. Their are methods of obtaining domain names but this is not the place for it. Unless you have legal rights to the name of the domain then its untouchable

Hmm, think I will do that. Unfortunately the name is not a registered trademark or something, so I do not have the rights to get it.
This sucks, but I think the only solution is registering the name as a trademark and take it over.

You might want to check into domain rules with ICANN. There might be something in there about having to have current whois information.

I'm in the same boat, but the domain I want to get hasn't been updated since 1996. Unfortunately, no responses. I wonder if there's a way to tell if a domain name is already backordered?

Go and complete an nacurate domain name information report at Icann. They will have five days to change the information to be accurate or they will loose the name. Having inaccurate information in a domain name is against the rules.

    Best Regards.
