    Hi everyone,

Im interested in buying a doman name, but its sports related and quite senstive to about 400k people, now these people will not appreciate things said about there team etc.

So i want to buy this domain but on a whois search not give my name and address away etc..is there way of doing this?

    thanks

    Netfirms offers free privacy (.com/.net)
Godaddy offers free privacy when domains are bought in bulk, 6 or more for most extensions

    I'm not sure about others

Free for the first year at least

There is an option to buy something called whois privacy when buying a domain. It can be done @ Godaddy, but I don't know about your registrar.

The whois .co.uk optout will hide your address, but not your name.

Register at Namecheap - WhoIs protection is automatically included. However, if you're trying to hide it from Google, you may be wasting your time since they are a Registrar and have access to all registration information, hidden or not.

Just in case, Chalkywhite is still looking. I discovered that BlueHost provides domain privacy with the host account. It has been a great option for me as I needed to obtain a separate hosting account with different server location and different IP address.

    Cheers

You can also try www.answerable.com , it always had free privacy protect with every domain and there is no minimum requirement also.
