Hi Everybody: I am a noivce for website marketing. I am now in charge of promoting a tea business website. It has now been for nearly one year. The traffic is about 1300 visits per month. I have tried many common ways such as directory submission, link exchange and so on. While the change is not obvious. I feel it is really difficult to increase traffic especially for a niche. Is there anyone so kind to enlighten me? such as providing some forum, blog or directory of food and beverage related products. Thanks a lot
It is actually much easier to create traffic for a niche then a general topic. You just have to do it the right way. Why don't you start using articles to drive traffic to the site. Write articles with ezinearticles, goarticles, and any other article site that has high PR. You can also do Squidoo lenses, hub pages, and create mini blog farms to get your link juice up. Just make sure you have your anchor text as your keywords you are going after.
You should figure out a list of keywords that you can target and either create content pages on your site targeting them or post them in article directories linking back to your site. You can also join some forums in your niche and use your signature to promote stuff. Get involved in social media stuff. Find groups on the internet that discuss this stuff and become the Guru. Other than that you can try posting on sites like craigslist and backpage to see if you can generate more traffic.
Hey Richard, I agree that niche sites are easier to create traffic for. Check my report out in my signature for 10 free ways that worked for me personally. As for keywords, here is my take, do it 50/50, go for the big keywords and the niche keywords. Why, becuase your goal is be the default for your industry. I have had over 100,000 visitors from Google and that was for 30,000+ keywords becuase my site is a default for the off words that are not often look for. If you only go for keywords, you cannot be the default. Check my signture out. Cheers, Mukul
Better start posting or commenting in forums or blogs which are related to your niche. As per your niche it is not sure that you will get such forums or blogs but you should then look over some diversified niche ...Getting traffic from these ways is not that hard or impossible...
What print media do people in the business read? Why not get an for your site in those publications? The world doesn't just exist online.
Thanks for all reply. They are helpful and I really appreciate it. Then Excuse me that as a noivce my question is naive. I am still unfamiliar with with social media. Currently,I only use Linkedin which I think is wonderful. Do you guys think I should add stumbonupon or digg button at my business website which is a site of a company. Is it appropriate? Another question is where I can find more groups to join in? such as Linkedin groups. Thanks

You can perform Press Release. It is a powerful task.
Learned a while back to put up a blog for every niche site you have. Wordpress.com is just great. Free and there are heaps of free templates you could use too. Do a Google search for "free Wordpress templates" including the inverted commas. We've found that we get best results from a three column template, with the main column in the centre. Good luck with it.
Thanks for all sharing. I did plan to launch a blog while I am afraid there I can't make so many posts to make my blog upgraded frequently and regularly. If so, can I have the intended effect that a blog should have?
A large percentage of your marketing strategy must be be website backlink creation. You will require tools to help make it easier to gain and manage linking. The advantages of backlinking include more traffic, better search engine results placement and web page money making opportunities. I agree that maintaining a blog is not an easy task, but I think a blog much easier to promote. You can submit it to blog directories, and the RSS feed to RSS directories. You can also use blog networking sites to drive traffic to your blog. It is also a good way to introduce products to your visitors without being too commercial. But you can direct them to your business or product website.
A silly thought. I do suggest you use the search feature as often I find on forums the questions been answered many times before Cheers, Mukul PS - Search is my favorite feature.
1300 Unique Visitors isn't bad, depending on how "niche" your website is. However, have you looked into Pay Per Click? I would definitely look into reading on it before diving in head first. Another thing you might consider doing is looking at some other business types that would be able to help you drive traffic and doing some direct advertising with banner ads and things. I'm not sure what websites have the authority in your niche, you probably know. I would shoot them an email and see what advertising costs and see if it will fit into your marketing budget.
