    5) Find the margin of error given the following statement:
We are 90% confident that if we take a sample of 35 washer machines, the average replacement time will be 11.8 years with a standard deviation of 2.1 years.

    6)
    (a) A laboratory tested a sample of 90 chicken eggs and found that the mean amount of cholesterol was 225 milligrams with a standard deviation of 13.4 milligrams. Construct a 95 percent confidence interval for the true mean cholesterol content, , of all such eggs.
Include an interpretation for the confidence interval that you found.

    (b) If you were given the population standard deviation, instead of the sample standard deviation as you were given in part (a) what would your confidence interval formula be.
(Just simply state the formula – no need to plug in numbers).

    7)
A sample of 121 people at a Sugarland concert in Winston-Salem, NC were asked how many minutes it took them to find a parking spot once they got to the stadium. From the sample, it was found the average time to find a parking spot was 17 minutes with a standard deviation of 5 minutes. Construct a 99% confidence interval for the average time it takes to find a parking spot. Include an interpretation for the confidence interval that you found.

    8)
    (a) Scores on a certain test are normally distributed with a population variance of 61. A researcher wishes to estimate the mean score achieved by all adults on the test. Find the sample size needed to assure with 98 percent confidence that the sample mean will not differ from the population mean by more than 2 units.

    (b) You wish to estimate the mean weight of machine components of a certain type and you require a 95% degree of confidence that the sample mean will be in error by no more than 0.009 grams. Find the sample size required. A pilot study showed that the population standard deviation is estimated to be 0.05 grams.

    2)
A laboratory tested twelve chicken eggs and found that the mean amount of cholesterol was 239 milligrams with a standard deviation of 13.3 milligrams. Construct a 95 percent confidence interval for the true mean cholesterol content of all such eggs.

    3)
The amounts (in ounces) of juice in eight randomly selected juice bottles are:
    15.9 15.7 15.8 15.3
    15.1 15.0 15.5 15.7
Construct a 98 percent confidence interval for the mean amount of juice in all such bottles.

    4)
    (a) Write the null and alternative hypothesis for a:
    i) left-tailed,
    ii) right-tailed
    iii) two-tailed test.
    (b) Write the null and alternative hypothesis for matched paired hypothesis testing.

    5)
    (a) Define type I and type II error
    (b) List the three main properties of a the t-distribution

Sorry this is suppose to be homework right? Do try it yourself, it is quite simple you just need the confidence interval equation, sigma everything is given, solving it should be very easy. There is totally no trick in any of the questions above.
