Hi I'm running some cleaning sites in Adwords, nearly a year now. I've been fiddling around with it and find it's working well so far so I haven't touched it. Only spending around 2.5% - 4% of our turnover. I wanted to ask any gurus out there? Whats the best way to optimize for services sites as it hard to track sales only inquiries? Do you thinks it's a good idea running ads on job sites like Gumtree? i.e someone posts an ad for a trades person and my site appears? this also means I could get alot of invalid clicks through other companies Has anyone tried the category targeting yet for the display network? any luck? I was thinking of targeting property services etc? i.e appearing on property websites.. Any help and insights would be appreciated, thanx
You could have a phone number that would be only for Adwords. A simple thing to show only that number if someone comes to your site using an ad. It won't tell you the keyword or ad that triggered it but better than nothing. Another way would be to show a discount code only to those coming from Adwords. With a bit of code, I'm sure you could generate a unique code on your site which you could use to determine the ad and keyword. Why run your ads on job sites for your cleaning business? Unless you mean suit cleaning, I'm thinking carpet cleaning. But even then, I don't think you'll get good results by doing that. You want to show your ads only to those more predisposed to need your product or service. Real estate sites would surely work a lot better than job sites.
