anyone have any views on this directory? i have been told that Google pays close attention to it.

does anyone know how it works- ie is it better to go for the standard inclusion which is very expensive or the PPC listings?

It looks like the pay per click listings don't have direct URL's - not indexable.

The standard links look to have direct URLs - better from a search engine point of view.

Business com, dmoz and yahoo are directories, that are very well watched by google.

The importance of a website's link there, does not only count, as the PR and IBL goes, but a little bit more.

It is one of the few 'expensive' directories that I stay in. Paid inclusion is $199/year. I don't get much traffic, but I think it is one that G values. Also, all of my competitors are in it, so I must be.

I tried their PPC and dumped it. I think that 80% of the click-thrus were fraudulent. I provided referrer logs a number of times to show that individual network partners were hitting my site more than G, Y!, and M$N combined. They removed the charges, but eventually I dropped the program.

    I get about 20 referrals/day from b.com.

They rank well (#3 or 4) for one of my keywords.

Tehy rank very well, as well, for my main keyword.

Actually, each of their pages ranks extremly well, without being so promoted. Not that many backlinks, not that many in page words :)
