Sure the domain name isn't the main part of the deal but certainly doesn't hurt it. And if you do a google news search on business.com you will find a lot of information about the deal and their revenue. Here are two sources:

    http://money.cnn.com/news/newsfeeds/articles/prnewswire/LATH00626072007-1.htm
Scroll down where it mentions Business.com and it mentions this:
The company is profitable and is expected to generate revenues of greater than $50 million in 2007
And it also mentions the deal is $345 million in cash and deferred purchase consideration.

they will get lots of advertising no doubt, but for how long?

I'm not sure how you define great marketing strategy, so if spending $350m is great strategy to achieve all that, then how abt $700m? or $1billion? How wld u quantify it in order to come to the conclusion that it is a great strategy?

I think that many here have said it is a great buy, but how would you know how much money is considered a great buy? I won't say its a great buy cause i don't know how to value the company and its profitability and growth prospects since i've never handled such a huge business before.

But one thing this sale has confirmed for me, DIRECTORIES still have a bright unwavering shinning future! 3 Cheers for this industry! :D
