    I guess new owners think long term. Profit is big enough to have their grand children live with no work, so 24 years profit is not much.
    I am sure it is great investment. Great price for seller too. Congrats to both sides.

    Well it's basically one of the most popular directories online and the industry is only going to grow. On top of that can you imagine what the domain name will be worth in another 20-30 years :eek:

    That was a very good profit. They bought the domain for 7.5 million in 1999. Developed it and sold it for 360 million 8 years after. That is what I would like to do!!

    I am wondering if anyone has seen an article describing the underlying technology that is being purchased. The company raise $77 million and probably spent every bit of it and more. It is also not clear how much is being offered in cash and how much is deferred based upon revenue results. Anyone have additional info on this?

    I believe the keyword is advertising. In the future the niche advertising channels will be of huge importance. Trusted channels and big in it's niche, thats added value!

    I agree. The advertising component (similar to Google's Adsense) seems to be a key component. The relationships they set up with partners also seems to be another value added component. Still, I wonder how much was put up in cash and how much has to still be earned? But, in any case, the sale does underscore the value of technology and marketing that brings customers to businesses. But they did spend tens of millions to get to where they are.
