Business a/c problems UK

Hi, I hope somebody can help me here. I am in the UK and have a business FB a/c where I boost posts in order to get a client base. When a post is clicked on I can click on the string of names and beside each name an 'invite' button means I can invite them to like the page. Today the invite button has changed to 'Add Friend'. I think this means I will get updates from them and I really don't want that.

Does anybody know how I can go back to just inviting people to like the page and not get me involved in their pages? I would be so grateful for help. Thank you.

    Hello,

I notice that this has changed too. Unfortunately, Facebook has change the "Invite to Like Page" to the "Add Friend" function and I don't see them reversing this. There is no other way you can invite people who liked your post to like your page now.

Thank you for your help. I have paused my present boosted post and will not be boosting again. Some businesses have been badly affected by this change and it would have been polite of FB to give their customers a few days warning. Cheers!

I don't understand why they would do this. The whole point of having a business page is that it's a business page, not a personal page. Does anyone know why they did this or what the rationale is?

Facebook is making changes all the time, and often it is very frustrating. Maybe they saw that this method was generating too many "invites" or they have had people complaining that they'd received many "invites". Also what Facebook wants is you running paid ads, not using a free function of their interface, unfortunately!

Why would you stop boosting your posts? I rarely used this method myself because it's just easier and cheaper to run ads... If you boost your post from the Ad Manager instead of clicking on the boost button, you will see that you have more targeting options and most importantly that the cost will be much less expensive.

I am glad to report that the "invite" feature is back on the page... for how long, I don't know!
Maybe that was a mistake made by a trainee engineer at Facebook. His hand has been slapped!

If you boost from the Ad Manager, the post will be boosted the same way and you will be able to "invite" as long as Facebook keep this feature. You will be surprised to see the cost lowering down as you can target better.
