Bush thanks Austrians and OPEC

President Bush did nothing to dispel that impression yesterday when he forgot the name of the event, referred to his Australian hosts as “Austrians”, and engaged in a public spat with the President of South Korea. To make matters worse, the security measures of the Sydney police were breached by a team of comedians, including a man dressed as Osama bin Laden.

But when he referred gratefully to Mr Howard’s forces in Iraq as “Austrian troops”, he had perhaps used up his credit. The worst mistake was made in the third sentence of his speech. “Thank you for being such a fine host for the Opec summit,” he said, confusing the 12-member Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries with the 21-member Asia-Pacific Economic Co-operation forum. “Apec summit,” he said quickly in correction. “He [Mr Howard] invited me to Opec next year.” But that wasn’t true either.

That Bin Laden guy turns up everywhere, making more guest appearances than Elvis ;)

Comments on Bush or Bin Laden welcome, or both :D

I wish he was drinking again, it would make for a better excuse for his mix ups. I also wish that Bin Laden would drink too, maybe he wouldn't be so damn angry with us.

As I have said before, you can't take him anywhere.

Imagine his speech writers all gathered around a large table when they are doing his speeches, trying to keep it simple as possible for the fool so he don't fu*k it up, yet he seems to bugger it up every single time.

He's a major idiot no doubt about it. :(

I'm being nice on the guy mate. I'm trying to appease people like GTech so that he may love me. :D

I do feel sorry for Bush, such a controlled fool that is manipulated by so many people. It's a bit like watching your child do his first play in his school assembly and hoping and praying he doesn't fluff his lines.

Without someone actually telling Bush what to say I doubt the idiot can even say anything. Remember the "Yo Blair" incident? :D

The guy is so dumb rumour has it that he even tried to buy a "thinking cap."

Isn't it funny how the terrorist Blair barely gets a mention these days.

He's done his damage and fooked off and appears to have slipped under the radar.

Almost as if the scumbag has served his purpose and is now, to coin a British Army military phrase SNLR (Services No Longer Required.) ;)

Tony Blair flies back to London today after making himself - with unexpected rapidity - part of the furniture of the official Israeli-Palestinian relationship.
