OK, so I guess I will conclude that your answer is yes, that it was OK for Bush to use the tactics he did.

Which means you are in effect saying:

    - It is OK to smear a former prisoner of war, who spent 5+ years being tortured,
on the issue of forgetting his fellow comrades.
    - It is OK to use a fringe group to do the smearing on said issue, a group which uses baseless claims
    - It is OK to use the same group(or at least the leader of the group) that also attacked your Father on the same issue(Bush Sr was also a legitimate
war hero, BTW), to smear and distort a former POW's record, for your own political gain
    - It is OK to bring the wife and adopted child into it, raising baseless claims of the "colored"
child having been sired out of wedlock by McCain
    - This is all justified because there seems to be some discrepancies in his voting on drilling in ANWR, which proves he is a crazy ex-POW nutball

At least you haven't shyed away from the issue, I'll give you that. This has so far really been an
enlightening journey into the thought process of a Bush supporter.
    Please give us more insight.

Its been pretty well documented that the Rove political strategy includes picking an opponents strong point(s) and attacking them.

I can't stand the way it comes out.....but gotta admit it has worked in Bush's case quite a number of times.

Every politician does it. EVERY SINGLE ONE.

thats the problem with politics today.. there is no more dignity, no more gentlemen or ladies. Just a bunch of half-wise fucko's saying the same thing, from different sides of their mouths dependant on which side of the aisle they are on.

    Don't kid yourselves.
