Yes, indeed I read it. Hell, I even comprehended what was written. Then, I gave an opinion.

With people you only know casually, it's always been considered "good etiquette" to steer clear of politics and religion as much as possible. It's obvious, why, really. People rarely agree on the subject.

Of course I've met people who don't honor this form of etiquette. They persist in pressing on, despite obvious signs of dis-interest and non-agreement from the other party.

I was assuming that "TarponKeith" is just such a person. In fact, telling someone that "ignorance is bliss" etc. was begging for a negative response from the person he was attempting to communicate with.

He didn't agree with the guys politics and made it known. Now they aren't going to be friends. Boo hoo, indeed.

I'm not one who actually "supports the war"... but I am utterly amazed at how quickly people totally forget about how we got involved in it. Lets not forget that the VAST MAJORITY of Americans thought something needed to be done at the time.

The government convinced the vast majority of people by selling a propaganda campaign (psyops) through the media.

Those people who thought rationally about the war drums beating, were able to ask pointed questions at the time, about evidence, proof, morality, sensibility.

Now they look like prophets. But that's just because many people acted out of fear. Fear the government promoted (mushroom cloud imagery, etc).
