http://www.cnn.com/2006/SHOWBIZ/Movies/10/31/leisure.president.reut/index.html "Death of a President" - rejected by more than 6,200 movie theatres nation-wide, it went into a lousy 142 movie theatres in the country. The producer argues that this is censorship and restricting rights of free speech. The theatres say it is not morally right to depict a living president to be assassinated, especially a sitting one. I say thank goodness the movie was rejected. Here's another article: http://www.news.com.au/adelaidenow/story/0,22606,20653848-5006343,00.html But heck - could liberal producers like this guy choose a better time to release a film like this?
He made the movie- right? So he should STFU and respect the decison of the movie theaters. He was probably hoping to get a bunch of publicity by being controversial.
No this is not a Gibson film. He's doing the one in central american about the aztecs or something. I think the guy who made this is canadian? Don't remember. I agree with Rob, theatre's choice to show it. Probably get a ton of rentals on netflix, though.
This was aired on TV here a couple of weeks ago. It was a peice of junk. Just trying to cash in on a contreversial plot.
