    LMAO :D

I loved that logic - "If we don't do what he says we're afraid to do, he wins!"

It's the sort of logic that gets tongues stuck on light poles in the middle of winter. Makes you wonder how many times that happened to our VP.

In the end, what really matters is whether or not the country is better off than it was when any given administration takes office. Personally, I think the biggest blunder this administration made was in their reaction to 9/11, and the second biggest blunder was in riding the "National Security" wave to re-election. Take away the war, and all the things that are truly disappointing either don't happen or are significantly paled. Not to say there isn't anything else that gets me riled up, but they've done some great things too, especially where small businesses are concerned (for instance the huge bump in section 179 deductions inspired huge growth in in the small business sector).

Yet we still see who you take issue with and who you don't. Same with most of the other partisan hacks here! The hypocrisy is humorous and thick as the hair on my ass!

I have heard some liberal/bush-haters say that bush has only harmed small businesses. (coming from people in Ashland, OR, so that might explain the attitude)

I think Bush has acted like a liberal in some of the things he has done and so did the republican senate.... some things were 1 step forward and 2 steps back.

I guess I can only talk authoritatively about my own businesses. For me, it was a huge benefit to be able to invest an additional $90K in myself, 45 of it that the bush administration basically just handed over. Clinton days, those numbers would have been 20/10.

I know there have been sectors that have been hurt by certain policy changes, but nothing that I would have even considered investing in in the first place.

    2 things here.

First of all, just because you appoint someone doesn't mean you can legaly fire them. US Justices for example. In some cases, however, the office that appoints can also fire.

Secondly: Is the attorney general's office a part of the executive branch or the legislative branch? I was under the impression that it is a part of the executive branch, and is tied closely to law enforcement and investigations.

its under both...its an appointed position by the executive branch, but should function under the auspices of the judicial branch....however, like many other roles (sec of state, etc), they are often linked closer with the executive branch.

So, like some judges, the attorneys are appointed by the executive branch, but work in the judicial branch, but unlike the Judges, they are there to prosecute. Hmm.

Some states seem to have an elected attorney general. It might be a good idea for that to be the case on the federal level as well.
