Anyone else here seen an increase in traffic after google introduced "Google Instant?" My website went from an avg. 9k a day to 12k a day in just the past week and growing!
I've had a huge traffic burst in the past few days, no idea why. Our hosting account can barely handle it, I'm waiting for the traffic to die down (its always low on weekends) so we can upgrade to a new host.
I noticed a bug where it sometimes only shows the first 1-4 results. So, perhaps if you were ranking 1-4, you would see a burst. If you ranked 5-10, you would see a drop.
Have you seen any progress in search engine position, if so it will be good. otherwise its not surprise
I seen a big boost in adsense impressions but too many sites for me to check where the extra traffic came from..
It might depend on how your site is set up. The big surge I experienced is after we did more internal linking. Something funky about the latest algo change that favors internal links. Not spammy links though but resource drivers type of links.
I heard a few comment about that in some of my friends they don't like it lucky for you, you got good traffic.
I think it's only the sites in the top 3 or 4 spots that are getting a boost from Google Instant. By not having a search box at the bottom of the page (like they used to) they really seem to be doing everything they can to encourage people to click on one of the top listings.
Good for those of you who have had a surge in traffic. I follow my rankings religiously and I'm finding that I'm dropping in position and also pages that are indexed. My linking campaign is consistant so not sure what is going on.
Traffic is increasing as always . Just be careful whit sudden burst in AdSense revenue . Last month big G had a bit of a paranoia and went around trowing the banhammer .
Better traffic, but lower sales. Makes me wonder how this will impact bounce rate over the long term. Initial results indicate relevancy/quality of traffic is less. Google Instant may have been better years ago. These days people are much better at using the right keyword combination to find what they are looking for. Google Instant may just be confusing people without offering any real value.
