I am really struggling with the 1-week bumping of threads. I know the problem is you don't want the premium threads to take over the forum, but what do free members have to complain about? It's only relevant to B/S/T if it's a problem for them they can become a paid member. Some suggestions I have are: 1. Allow bumps every 5 days. 2. Increase bump limit but must be in different sub-forums. 3. Offer some incentive to increase bump limit. For example, if you help moderate users, you will be eligible for additional bumps.
Premium members already get to bump 23 days sooner than normal... Changing that to 25 days sooner instead really just seems like an arbitrary number... I mean when it comes down to it, people aren't going to be happy unless they can bump every hour. The thing with bumping is that it's only going to be really useful if the person bumping can bump, but others can't. So just changing the number of days that everyone can bump really would be less useful than it sounds since you are giving everyone else the same ability. The ability to do one-off bumps somehow *would* have advantages, just not sure the best way to somehow allow that.
At the moment, premium members have the ability to bump threads every 7 days. My suggestion was to have the ability to bump every 5 days. A small improvement, but an improvement nonetheless (21 additional bumps over the course of a year would help alot). Some sales threads don't sell and sometimes it just needs that extra push/exposure. This would apply to premium members only, so they would see the benefit in it, since free members won't be able to bump threads with the same frequency. Even if you were to make these changes, I doubt most premium members would even take advantage of it.
any chance you can reconsider this? i pretty much refuted every thing you said in your 1st post. i don't expect to be able to bump a new thread every day that would be overkill, but sometimes i'd like to be able to bump a thread because something didn't sell more then once per week.
