Bumping Thread

    Hi,

I have just received a "Warning Received - Bumping Thread"

What I did was: Forums -> New Posts and there was a thread with

Title: I need a graphic designer...

The guys have been talking about Elance so I noted that Elance is now UpWork as nobody had noted it there before.

What did I wrong? Is the section "Forums -> New Posts" supposed to be not commented?

    Thanks

No one likes to receive warnings. Just look at it from the point of view as a learning tool. You need 10 points to get banned so no worries, unless you have a bunch of other warnings..
Maybe in future only answer others posts, don't make a post simply to bring your thread up. I see members sometimes making posts like "bump". They are asking for a warning if they do that.

OK, let me ask in other way - is there a section I can comment without worrying to be banned? To be visible to you I thought that it is exactly the section "Forums -> New Posts".

If you don't mind I have one more question - is it possible to view all unanswered threads?

    Thank you

A good rule of thumb to prevent bumping a thread is don't reply if the thread's last reply is already from you. Instead, use the "Edit" option to edit your last post if you have something else to add.

    Thanks for reply.

It was not my thread and it was my first reply to that thread.

And I also checked if the string "upwork" is there to be sure that it will be a new (=hopefully valuable) information.

Seriously I don't feel that I did anything wrong. What do you think?
