For those of you that have had success bum marketing with articles can you give me a "rule of thumb" for the following question:

When you find a low competition keyword for your niche, what is the lowest average monthly search volume you will accept before putting in the time to write an article based on that keyword?

    50 Monthly Searches?
    100 Monthly Searches?
    500 Monthly Searches?
    1000 Monthly Searches?

Just trying to figure out when the low competition keyword pays off for the search volume.

    Thanks,

I've been told that the best rule of the thumb is to go by 10,000 monthly searches or below.

    It's "article marketing," period.

Sorry, but that term bugs me. It's just some dope who coined that phrase to sell his lame e-book.

As to your question, why draw the line there? When you do your "campaign," use all keywords pertaining to tha article. You don't lose anything doing it, so....

And Google gives you a long list of keywords for ideas, so....

My normal 'rule' is a keyword has to be getting at least 500 searches a month minimum.

    Hope that helps!

you also have to consider competition. 50,000 (with quote) or less is a good number to start with.
