As I would like to promote and push Wealthy Affiliate (because I give out a great bonus when you sign up through my links) - it's not only about it... WA was a great help because many people in there start with Bum Marketing - so lots of great advice, but as I mentioned previously - it doesn't take much. - You have to find your hungry crowd that needs a problem to be solved - You write an article telling them THERE is a SOLUTION (without actually giving out the solution) - Don't try to sell to them, try to help them. That is about it
OK... now, I have a small question for all the seasoned "bum marketers" in here. I'm already working on a content site; I've planned to put like 50-60 articles on it and get some ad revenue coming in. My question is this: would it be better to put articles on my own site or am I better off submitting them to article directories? I know I can do both but supposing this is some sort of a case study, which method would generally be more profitable for me? Thanks
Just slight proof that Bum Marketing works. I wrote an article way back in mid to late September. I'm still making sales off that article - in fact I had one two days ago. I made a sale on work I did 4 months ago! Sure it was only 22$ worth of cash. But it was 4 month ago. this means that: With bum marketing, if you work extremely hard in the beginning, you will be able to kick back, relax, and enjoy your profits. I don't really bum market too much anymore because I want to build my own website - not someone elses - ya know? Bum Marketing works though! Especially if you submit to 100+ quality directories.
Congrats Alex!! Are you using a regular site or landing page? The reason I ask is that if you also get links from other decent sites, you will see even better results. I find it easier to get a link than write a hundred articles on the same subject Best of luck to you!! Zeek
I was using Squidoo Lenses up until now, but I will be creating a mini-site on this niche for several reasons: 1) Squidoo has many exit links where I LOSE Money 2) If I build 100+ page well optimized site - I am sure I will be making much more $$$, + my content will always be mine.
This is what I love about BMM. Similar things happen to me as well... I wrote this 1 article long time ago, but than I ditched the niche... 2 days ago I made a sale form that old article linking to a blog with 1 single post
thats why I know use either hubpages or weebly, they are as strong as squidoo but with little distractions
Hubpages - maybe, but I think Weebly is kind of behind... Google doesn't seem to love Weebly all that much.
If you want to bum market then use article directories and landing pages. I don't think people should use squidoo, hubpages, weebly, etc. Why do that when you can just get your blog and post on there
Start with your website first, and then submit them to the article sites as I've heard that works better.
That would not work as SEs will devalue articles on your site the moment they are indexed on major article directories. Those are authority sites and even though your site got indexed first it will get hit hard. The only solution is to write multiple versions of articles for your web site and for submitting to article directories.
that is true, but they also have leaks and quite a significant percentage of the traffic you struggle to get to those pages disappears in the void
One way to reduce the number of leaks is to 'umax' your Squidoo lens. When you create a new lens the default layout is 'maxed' - which is a three column layout. The 'unmaxed' lens has a two column layout. This means you get less google ads, the featured lens links don't have pictures and the group links are less prominent. If you want to umax a lens, go to edit mode. Look down the right hand column and at the bottom of the 'Lens Stats' section you will see a check box with a tick in it and 'Maxed!' written next to it - just untick the box, click publish and your lens will display in the two column format.
Great Advice! I was doing some tests with this MAX feature couple of weeks ago, not MAXing your squidoo DOES increase sales Alex
Are you sure about that baumann? I thought by having it on your site first would keep you from getting penalized for duplicate content.
