I didn't get better place to let you know. Please don't give me infraction. When tried to submit my travel related site to a regional US directory, I got an amazing information. There was a criteria given that you can submit if "......You ARE NOT an outsourced Russian/Pakistani/Phillipino/Indian worker getting paid $5.00 a day from an SEO company to bulk submit websites to directories" Ousourcing is everywhere in this World, but why hit those countries only? Bcoz they get the service with very cheap labour cost!!!! Or the service itself is cheap? Spammers can be blocked by other means too. Please anyone give justified reply. Thank you
Personally, I find that very offensive. I would move on and find other directories to submit to; there are plenty of free listing sites that don't have draconian submission guidelines.
Its extremely racist and ironic that one of the biggest outsourcing countries has a message like that. US, UK outsource huge amounts of work to asia, everyone wants a free service, but everyone complains at the breakdown in communication. To bulk a whole country as being bad because of a minority is wrong. Were all aware of the scammers in Nigeria right? and many of the stolen prestige cars in the UK, like Benz, Jags, Beemers, etc get shipped in containers to Nigeria, but a plus side is Nigeria sends some excellent professional people to the UK to work in the NHS, doctors, specialists etc. Its pure ignorance to suggest a whole country is not welcome and that banning a country IP or something is basically shooting yourself in the foot. To expect no spam while running a directory is ridiculous. If a web directory owner or internet user cant cope with that then switch your computer off now and never return to it. Some realism is needed. Name and shame the directory here please for the prejudiced outlook that they have.
Pipes summed it up quite well. It's like the "donut submissen" thread....what some guys do in their country can give their fellow countrymen a bad name and hence result in people adding stuff like that online.
