I know, it sounds stupid, but ppl have gotten banned for promoting on myspace.

So just to make sure, does google allow me to use bulk opt in email to drive ppl to my site?

    thanks

Where are you getting the email addresses that are supposedly opt-in?

i think if they are subscribed users to your site or one of your sites its ok so google cant pretend its a spam

Unless you are using GMail how would Google know what kind of emails you are sending ?

if people use webmail to read the mail, click on a link in that mail than Google could see it via the referrer info ...

I'm sure google is measuring these kind of things via adsense

I think it would be fine to maybe send emails promoting your website to people. E.g to everyone on your contact list. As long as you don't say somehting like-"Please click on the adds on my website! It gets me money!"

    Enoch,
I disagree. You could find yourself in a few lawsuits. It's best to do a broadcast email giving them all an option to "unsubscribe" to a newsletter.

WHat if you have some list (huge list) and send, let's say, 15 per day in a automatically way, but yet somehow personalized?
