Once you've got your autoresponder series in place for the new list you're about to begin building, you want to get quality leads that respond to your messages. Many people struggle to build their list, so I thought I'd share a few tips on list building for everyone. Please feel free to add your own strategies for the benefit of others below. eBay- I'm not an eBay marketer really, though I have been in the past. However, I use eBay for list building all the time. So Try this: Go to auctiontitles.com and search for your main keyword phrase. You will then be given a list of the top 100 listings using that keyword phrase in the tittle, and also the other keywords they are using in conjunction with it. You'll be able to gather from this information the most popular items being sold on eBay in your niche. Then, you need to put your opt in form on your "about me page"... I could spend hours talking about the "about me page" but suffice it to say, its a cool feature that you can use to put anything you want on and get active in the eBay communities with it. So put your opt in form on it. Then, take the top selling item in the niche, and click "Sell" as if you were going to sell it. Make the title the same as the others you found at auctiontitles.com that were popular. Then you are going to add one simple word to the title....SCAM... Thats right, you're going to find the most popular product selling on eBay for your niche and right a 5 page or less SCAM report about it. And you're going to list that scam report on eBay for .99 cents using the same auction title you know to be popular, including the word SCAM at the end. In your description explain how many people are being SCAMMED in that industry and use scare tactics so people are afraid. This is great because while there are dozens of this very product being sold on eBay, right in the middle of all of those listings, there you will be with a great big SCAM report than anybody shopping for your product will flock to. Explain that you are selling your scam report very cheaply in order to simply cover the listing fee because you want everyone to be informed. BUT they can get it for FREE by visiting your "about me page" and opting in to your mailing list. You'll then send them the FREE scam report that took you maybe 30 minutes to write about how people get scammed in your niche. You've now just built trust with your subscribers. So guess what? Next week when you find a RELIABLE source for the same product you know they are already interested in, they are likely to buy it from you for keeping them well informed on all the scammers out there. I've done this in niches like "Ipod Downloads" and made a KILLING. I don't suggest doing that now as many people have started copying me and its kinda getting over done, but you can do wonders with this in other niches...in ANY niches for that matter, and you can build very BIG lists this way... I think the eBay strategy is enough for one posts....I'll let you all experiment with this and I'll put some more strategies for list building below...
