    Have a question.

I am building a web application for my company, and I am wanting to do a checkout for customers in this area. Is there ANY api, through a merchant, that allows swiping of credit cards in a web interface?

For example, if I checkout a customer on my local server, through LAMP (linux, apache, mysql, php), is there a step or api I can do to be able to swipe the credit card, and get the swipeable rate. Does anyone have any experience with this? Or know of any company that I can contact to find out?

I know by swiping the credit card in notepad, I can pull the number and expiration date, but i would need more information, or an api.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

hmm.. I have searched all over google. The smart swipe I guess would be my last hope if i needed it. As if I used this, I would be charged by my merchant a "non-swiped" fee.

There isn't any merchant out there that lets use use a swipe card api to build in to a web application?
