I have a few lenses on Squidoo, but I am having a difficult time building traffic to them. Does anyone have sources or websites that I can submit the links to? Or modules that help build links? Or any other tips that may be useful?
Try submitting your Squidoo lenses to these sites: http://www.lensroll.com/ http://www.squoogle.com/ http://isleofsquid.com/ http://www.lensmasterworld.com/ http://www.squidom.com/ http://www.squidirectory.com/
Having a page in Squidoo is like having a site, so you promote it the same way you would if you have a site.
I already knew about the lensroll and squoogle.... but the other 4 was just new to me. Hmmm...... Let me try that.
Why don't you let us take a look at your lenses and maybe we could give you some constructive criticism. What niches are you targeting?
Seems kinda pointless then doesn't it? I mean if the same amount of work is involved then why not add content to your own site and promote that?
Proper keyword optimization and submission to popular social bookmarking sites like Digg, StumbleUpon, and Delicious will ensure that your lenses get a traffic flow that corresponds with the search demand for your topic. If your lenses are about popular topics and use keywords that are highly competitive, chances are that you won't get much organic search engine traffic at all if you didn't create the lens before the topic or keywords became popular. If your lenses are about obscure topics that only a few people search for online, that may be why you aren't receiving the traffic you thought you would. So, in the future, make sure you perform thorough keyword research and optimize terms that people are searching for, but that are not yet very competitive. Hope this helps
I was asking myself the same question.. why do people use squidoo anyway? No really, are there any benifits?
I have many squidoo lenses. traffic and conversions suck. Youtube gets the job done when you are serious about making money.
Squidoo lenses are great for building backlinks to your own websites. They can also rank well for long tail keywords if you do the correct keyword research and build backlinks to them.
Squidoo has a high pr ranking - so putting a lens on squidoo will get you someinstant link juice from google - similar to the effect of a wordpress blog. But I find you need to keep adding to it(your lens) and have multiple lenses (5 or more) to see much of an effect. As aprt of an overall campaign it seems to work well.
Make sure you target some reasonable keywords (keywords with search volume and relatively low competition) and publish enough unique content. Building links for a Squidoo lense is exact same as building links for a website: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=link+building+ideas If you need a Squidoo lenses building service: http://www.seofocused.com/squidoo_lenses.htm
True. Besides it's fun and rather easy to get a few lenses set up. I am seeing a few copy/paste posters around. When you think you've seen it all, it gets worse.
