Building the right micro niche site

First, I will admit I am a newbie of newbies but information seems a bit ambiguous as to the type of micro niche site that will be successful.
A small, four or five page is ideal since it can focus on a single very narrow topic. A name brand briefcase for example. i.e. JohnsonLeatherBriefCases dot com. (just an example, if there is a brand called Johnson, it is purely coincidental)
But this narrow focus really limits potential traffic and if the content is not GREAT, the bounce will be horrific.
On the other hand, a micro niche site that offers insight and information on a product type leaves open the chance for a bigger market and more traffic. Leather Brief Cases dot com for example.
Then you can write content about the benefits of Leather brief cases over other types or select 2 or 3 or even more brands to write content about.
If you manage to get manufacturers to dropship for you, this could be a great little site.
Now with all that, my point (or question) is --- the really narrow site JohnsonLeatherBriefCases dot com is going to get little traffic but very targeted traffic. Small traffic means little potential for adsense clicks.
A more general site leaves open the possibility of more traffic but being less targeted, the bounce is going to be higher. With the higher bounce rate, is the click through rate on the adsense going to be higher due to more traffic or lower due to the higher bounce rate or about the same?
Does anyone have any experience or insight that can help me know which is best?

It doesn't matter so much, it's how much they are paying on the other end for that click.

you can only control so much when it comes to getting clicks with adsense. mainly amount of traffic you bring in, and placement. since there's more traffic for a generalized brief case site, i'd go with that. maybe build up individual sites (subdomains) under that single domain, basing each site \ subdomain on individual brands, or something related.

either way, the traffic is going to be much larger for the generalized brief case site, and that's what you're gonna wanna aim for.

Your question is irrelevant, we don't care about click through rate, what counts for earnings with adsense is traffic (number of ad impressions) and only in a second time eCPM, that is how much you get per 1,000 ad impressions (eCPM is actually dependent on CTR & CPC).
But the most important part is traffic.
It's not the same rule if your micro niche site is dealing with affiliations.
But for adsense, traffic counts number one. So for me micro niche sites for adsense need to be in a relatively moderate traffic (as far as micro niche sites go) with high paying ads (CPC).
My personal choice is to have sites talking about everything, so that it attracts mass traffic, since adsense requires traffic to be profitable.
