STEP 1: Offer a free gift. The free gift should be VALUABLE.
Doesn’t have to be big, in fact quite the opposite.

Yet, the person should feel like they just got $97 or more in value out of it. It should help solve a problem they have, or, it should give them something they want and will use. Do a little brainstorming and market research. It’s not hard, you just gotta do it.

STEP 2: People will enter their email address to get the free gift.

Here, all you have to do is GIVE IT TO THEM!* Don’t make them jump through a bunch of hoops. Simply give them what you said you would right away. Easy.
*Providing an unannounced bonus as well, is always something your new members will appreciate.

STEP 3: Deliver Valuable Email Newsletters.
At this point, you’ve provided them with something great, and here you keep on stacking up the VALUE.
You simply send out entertaining, valuable, non-spammy emails every day or so.
Over time, these people will begin to know, like, and trust you more and more.

STEP 4: Recommend Products and Services that solve their big problems.

These may be products or opportunities you’ve used or are using. It may be something that you KNOW is what this person needs and wants. They trusty They trust you, so you ‘honest’ recommendation will go
    a LONG WAY here.

And at this point, it’s not pushy or spammy at all. You’re simply recommending something from the position of their trusted advisor. They’ll appreciate you doing this as long as you’re on the up and up and do it right.

    STEP 5: Rinse and Repeat!

You keep solving their problems, serving them, and providing amazing value. Never stop doing this. EVER.
Now, that doesn’t seem too difficult to do, right?
And the truth is, it’s NOT!!
Don’t make this business any harder than it needs to be.
Of course, you do want to have the right support structure in place for you to profit handsomely as well.
And, you want the right structure to offer the highest form of value for your tribe of leads and customers that will be on this list.

Thank you this was solid advice. What are some examples of gifts that you have given that were worth $97 or more?

Technically you don't call them 'customers' yet since they haven't bought from you.

    But technicality aside,

What is your website about anyway?

    Who are your audience?

By knowing these you can now craft that perfect free gift that would make them enter their email.

Think about 10 page reports or 5 minute videos solving a particular problem.

Or you can do a reverse squeeze page (not a lot of marketers do this) wherein you give content first and if they want more, give them the whole picture once they subscribe.

    An example would be http://the9to5marketer.com.

Note: you don't have to opt in. Just study how it's structured just in case you don't have a free gift. It's not always about giving something away for free to opt in.

Second is by sending carefully crafted email copies that not only educates and entertains but sells any product that is connected to your free gift.

Make sure you have an autoresponder for this. It's vital that you do because this is going to be the lifeblood of your business.

Now, you can find people to do this for you. I normally charge $20 for every email copy to my clients (minumum of 10 orders) so I would advice you to look for anyone within that price range up to $30 per email. if you're planning to let someone do it.

It's kinda pricey I know. But you're not just asking them to writr an article which is easy. You're asking them to write a copy that sells!

Any lower and you might be sacrificing quality over price which will hinder your growth in the long run.

And lastly, find other related products in your market and do the same steps above.

    1. Free Digital Gift
    2. Use Follow-up emails to promote a low ticket item. Once they've bought, direct them to an upsell page.

There is a variety of ways to do it, so you'll have to do testing to see what works for your offer.

Always provide value... Once you follow this rule, you'll be fine.

You need to get them to your website, so try to satisfy them. Give them something in return for visiting your website (discount, giveaways etc).
You will see that if you give them something they will return. And the profit will be bigger!

At first show them the problem and then offer a solution. Maybe your potential customers have never heard of the problem that your product is able to solve. So ask questions that lead to wisdom (like "Have you ever wondered...?")

Like stated above you need to offer the subscriber something that is valuable to them for exchange of there contact information. You need to bring them in somehow so you can continually follow up with them about other advice you may have or products you believe can help them achieve what they want. You have to put yourself in the buyers shoes. You have to think if this was you then what what would entice you to OPT in to their email list.

Definitely, the free gift should be a piece of software your customers would gladly use. However, really efficient and useful software is rarely available free and providing a pirate copy is a copyright infringement. Therefore, the really important - and hard - step is finding a software your users will like but WILL NOT be able to download themselves easily - so they value your gift. In simple words - new version of WinRar is not a gift, no matter how useful and feature-rich it might be.

If you're collecting emails from your website, this means you're doing something right already - offering value in exchange for an email address. Keep offering value throughout your email campaigns with free and valuable advice. Personally, I use the 90-10 rule - 90% of the emails I send to my subscribers offers valuable advice with no selling whatsoever (maybe a link to my website to a specific article or another free download). The other 10% of the time I'll recommend a product or service along with some valuable advice.

Emails should have a mix of motiviation, entertainment and information so try to incorporate all 3 in your emails whenever possible - you see lots of facebook pages with motivational quotes for this reason.

The thing with email marketing is that you have to give them the content they actually Want and Need! So market research is important to know their needs, demands, problems and so forth to help them, that's the ultimate point.

Once they trust you they buy from you. They can only trust you by doing what I just told you.

Email marketing should be about building a relationship & providing value. From there, you can send occasional promotional emails.
