I have read a lot of the hype about building links to fast and from what I have read it is more about how unnatural it looks to engines. Anyone ever conducted a study to see if it is just hype? I would love to hear some from your experiences or any hard core facts you can provide about the subject.
Building links to fast is bad specially high page rank links. Try to get links organically through blogs and viral content.
So funny, anytime I see the words "viral marketing" I just get a big smile on my face. What a great term, haha.
The best term around. You'll be alright don't go out buying a bunch of pr9 links like 10k plus a month on high page rank links.
Yeah, but... What defines "too fast?" Also - You really think there is a little part of the Google algo that says "even though this site has all the perfect content and the inbound links are abundant and anchored perfectly, I'm not going to serve it to the user because it got 300 links to it in the last 48 hours?" I'm not so sure... The reason I say this is that we've all seen things spread over the Internet REALLY REALLY quickly. Those things shoot up the SERP also. How in the world would the Google algo be able to determine the difference?
I have did a test some of my sites and I am sure that young domains are very sensitively to high building of links, but I want to straighten the thing that you can take a ban because of the too fast high building -this is not true, but your site can take a filter-penalty,and for sure it will have, but as i said this is only for young domains. Please to take that english is not my mother tongue language into account.I wrote because I know that it could a little inexplicable
i have done that mistake in past and my site is in sandbox now. building links too fast will be a reason for sandbox
Build links slowly and naturally. If other sites are linking to you, you would not receive thousands all at once. You would receive links sporadically. This is te best way.
You have to add links pretty fast to worry about google.. I'm talking about 1,000 new links a day, type deal.
1000 a day? Not really. I got burned twice. First time I linked to directories, about 10 or 15 submit form per day. And I got penalized for a long time. Second time, I submitted another site to 10 directories and got links from 11 blogs within 30 days period. I recently got penalized. From my experience, stick to the quality content and organic links will come. Keep artificial linking to bare minimum.
I suppose you could take the latest craze WidgetBucks as an example. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&safe=off&rls=GGGL,GGGL:2006-27,GGGL:en&q=widgetbucks&btnG=Search Not sure if they have done any spider blocking or such but baring that, with the amount of linkage they have had recently they should be doing well with their site name but they arent.
sandbox = you triggered a filter , a filter that says this guys linking pattern looks artificial natural link profile = no sandbox
i have to agree here. i don;t think there is anything called too fast. its more like being steady and keep up with the pace. you might have a very successful site and ton of people could be interested in linking to your site because of its uniqueness and value. idea is to keep the links coming. if you build 1000 links this month, then make sure you have 1200 or 1500 links being added next month. that way google knows your site has steady growth. but if you build few thousand links when you start and just sit back and relax waiting for the flood of traffic ot follow, then its not gonna work.
