From what I read, you should slowly build up links so that Google doesn't penalize or ban your site. I've also read other threads where they say that Google won't penalize you for links from bad neighbourhoods or if you get to many links to quickly because it could just be a competitor trying to bring your site down and that you can't control who links to you. I'm just wondering which one is correct?
Google just uses boots to crawl the website. You can guess yourself how smart will they be in comparison to human mind. They cannot determine anything they will follow just the links. And yes, if your backlinks are build up quickly then there is chance of being banned. Yes, you cannot control who links to your site, but do you have so many enemies that they will link your site via some porn sites ?
The way I see it, you don't want to go through all that trouble getting 100s of backlinks daily to have your site penalized by google. Keep it natural, pace yourself..... it is not a sprint to the finish, but more of a jog...
Doing a backlink i m normal job especially weekend. I spend 1-2 hour going to other blog / forum, reading and leave a good comment. It good for your link building practice. Free and really worth it.
If you post regularly on a forum and have your keywords for your site in the signature, how useful in terms of google rankings is that?
Getting a backlink from bad neighbourhood that filled with spam links would hurt your blog. This is one method that your competitors use to drag us down from SERP ranking. But, remember, google are frequently changing their algorithm. Any codes that google have a max of 6 months lifespan. They keep on changing their codes to be better. So, be sure to read some latest info about this too. I'm sure when the sandbox is up, everyone will be jumping.
Google bots see that the you get even links anything fishy can drop your site. So its nothing wrong you getting a lot of links a day but it should be evenly distributed. yes, you don't have any control who links to you.
Yeah this is the problem I have when people say "Don't build links too fast" You cannot control who links to you, I mean, what if some very interesting juicy topic comes up and every man and his dog is linking to it?
In that case you should always have great content so that the man and the dog both are happy. And google don't think you are spam.
And this is exactly why any normal person should stop worrying about Google banning them for building inbound links too fast. If a small site gets onto the front page of digg and gets hundreds of links to their site in a day or so, do they get banned? Of course not! Unless you are in a link farm or an automated link exchange you have no need to worry. Just make sure to check your inbound links in yahoo site explorer every week in case your URL is being linked to massively from something that looks dodgy, other than that , dont worry!
a normal person could add 200 backlinks / day... so... only google knows how many and when they will penalize you
Just try to build them slowly and quality matters as well. Balance your link building campaign and your sources for backlinks and you will be fine.
u can make any num of links with out any dought....who told google penalises u for that and even so google doesnt crawl all ur links at the same time..there are many people who build 100 backlinks a day... and just think of twitter, some lakhs of backlinks in a less time of one or two months... did google penalised them? so just build links .
Its true. Slow and steady approach give fruitful results or output. It depends on you "How much you can build in a day" ? But here quality matters not quantity. And for finding quality links you have to spend time that's why I said Slow and steady approach give fruitful results or output.
