Building Links Through Article Submission

I am about to try submitting unique articles as a way of building relevant and targetted backlinks.

I know there are many directories out there, is it best to submit to one or many? I would have thought one but then if Google crawls the site won't they see it as duplicate content?

Secondly, which article directory is best such method and allows you to place a backlink in your article or in the footer box?

Finally, does anyone have any experience in this field and if you do, what tips/suggestions can you share?

    Thanks in advance.

Article submissions can be a good source of traffic and backlinks but you need to write a unique and fresh article before you submit it, make sure you are grammatically correct, double check your spelling, and your article should have a minimum of 300 -500 words and the best article directory is Ezine but there are many good article directories out there, you just need to search it.

write allot and keep adding them to new directories

it works just keep adding new articles and never stop

start with ezine then move from there but never stop doing it because it builds over time also ad your articles to your blog

I am in the process of submitting to many article directories. But I never submit the same article twice.

This is what I am in the process of right now: I'll write a unique article and submit it with link in the resource box to a specific category (sometimes pages) of the website.

This will create back links to different pages or sections of your website.

goarticles.com is also a good site to submit to

I have the same question though, does having the same content across multiple directories and your blog hurt your article's effectiveness because a search engine sees it as duplicate content?

It has been my experience to submit unique articles to places like Ezine and GoArticles. You can have 2 links in the resource box in Ezine. I believe it's also a maximum of 2 links on GoArticles. This is where you get creative and come up with good variations of your anchor text and link them back to your site and/or posts. Submitting duplicate content to article directories won't help you at all and in fact may get you penalized by Google.

I would assume so due to duplicate content, but i am not entirely sure.

I highly doubt having 10-20 duplicate articles out of 1,000,000,000 web pages would hurt rankings. but if your up there in the 1000+ pages of duplicate then you might reconsider your options.

then again these are not confirmed.

Write unique articles and send them to only the top directories maybe 5 - 10 directories. You can check out for top articles directories by doing some research. Then make a variation of those articles, sign up for free with articlemarketer.com and then submit those articles. Don't worry about duplicate content regarding articles on directory. Google will not penalize your sites because of that.

I've submitted a few articles to eZineArticles and ArticleDashboard. Both are highly recommend on the WWW and the latter ranks 1st for "Article Directory".

I've submitted 4 articles to each (all unique with different titles), they are awaiting review, hopefully it'll work out.

Thanks for all replies, if I have any further important information to share I will do!

Article Submission is really effective to build backlinks as well as provide your site with good traffic. Once your article is approved and republished by other relevant sites/blogs, your site can gain natural backlinks. Just make sure you have written an interesting and quality article..

As technology is becoming smarter, duplicate content may hit a dead end one day. But the race is on. And it belongs to the swift.

Many of the major article directory's contents are syndicated to smaller sites. It wont hurt submitting to the big ones for sure.

Yes, submit to ezines but I strongly recommend outsourcing the distribution part. That's because

    1) distribution services are cheap these days
    2) submitting articles yourself can be really time consuming
    3) maintaining a strong list of article directories takes up even more time!

    hope that helps.

I have been using a few article directories lately. One of the best is Articles Base. They get indexed pretty quickly. Saw one of my articles on page 3 of Google within a couple of days of it going live on the site. It's PR 5, too.
