Building links and traffic with Squiddoo.

I have been publishing articles on Squiddoo. For those who have never heard of Squiddoo it is a site were you create a profile and can post articles with link backs to you site. Anyway I want to know if anyone has had success with this site and if so how did it help. Among other things I want to know if it helps with link popularity.

i tried to look at the sourcecode of a Squiddoo page and can;t seem to open the source code for some reason. anyone knows whether they are using nofollow?

 

Squidoo does not use nofollow attribute. Anyway I don't get traffic on squidoo, mostly of my traffic is from blog and search engine.

 

First I would like to say that I've never used squidoo. From looking at it a few times and from reading what people say about it I always saw Squidoo a bit like a giant spam site. Most people only crate a lens to link back to their sites so the information present is always a bit spammy.

 

I create unique good content on Squidoo, and run my own group. That stays away from spam. And just like anything else, with good content comes good ratings. there are some keywords that i can put in, even using the name of my site and Squidoo lenses will rank higher. They look at my lense they see my links.
I duplicate in a way almost everyone of my articles to Squidoo, so i have good content on my lenses. If it becomes huge, then great i have good stuff on there. If it goes away, oh well.

 

i have been reading about Squidoo links but i did not read anybofy who has get success with Squidoo

 

Squidoo use to work but Google gave it a penalty so the links are pretty much useless and the pages don't send any traffic.

 

isn't it page ranking a big goose egg nowadays? (0)

 

I get a little traffic from Squidoo and Google counts the link back to my site. I don't spend a lot of time on Squidoo, but in my opinion it was worth the minimal effort.

 

Allwayslearning I did work on optimizing one of my client's squidoo pages ....
e.g. squidoo.com/download_the_oc_episodes/ for the keywords : Download the oc episodes free , free oc episodes downloads , Download the oc

squidoo.com/downloadsimpsonsepisodesfree/ for the keywords : Download Simpsons episodes for free, Simpsons full episodes free ETC.....
and I did assured you that this indeed is the one of the best practice ... as far getting traffic is concerned....( also included in Aaron wall's article of 101 link buildilng techniques ).

It used to be a best source for gaming google but then it experience a penalty by google. You can realized its importance by the example that a squidoo lens on laptops bags is on number one position in google for keyword laptop bags. But not anymore.

 

Some of the Squidoo pages still rank very high. So, there is still room for more lenses

Yeah some squidoo pages definitely get a good page rank and I know some people are getting A LOT of links to their lenses and making A LOT of money from it. So squidoo is definitely worth a shot.
