Hey all, I started my first website a little less than two months ago and as of 2 days ago I had 1490 backlinks (according to google's webmaster tools, ~950 in yahoo). How fast is too fast for Google? I'm already SB'd and I want to eventually get some decent google traffic.
I would just work on site add more info and slow down on links until site is in serp then add more every now and then
can you tell me you stratagy so far, you know how you started off i usually start of with a few niche directory submissions, then a small ammount of article submissions, then comments on relavent forums ond blogs, next is social bookmarking. - all in small numbers. then i just repeat the process and up the volume each time, everything is done by hand and nothing spammy.
I have 482+ backlinks and my site was launched November 15 google is weird when it comes to backlinks ..
SweetLouise, my strategy was submitting to niche dirs, then wrote a few articles in Squidoo, etc. and included links to my site, then used some unconventional means such as yahoo answers and commented on relevant blogs (with actual comments after reading articles, didn't just spam it up with my link), then did quite a bit of social bookmarking.
How much of my links should be to my other pages? currently have 9 pages, of which the homepage has 99.5% of my inbound links.
what i've seen is,if the site is new and/or doesn't have a steady stream of new links and you get a lot backlinks, google will pentalize you in serps, but you will come back. if all the pages are interlinked or have outside links,it doesn't matter.google will find the pages, but the better the link structure is,the easier it is for google to find the pages.
around 1200 for a blog that was published in the beginning of november. it also counts the quality of those backlinks and they must come from different websites too.
