    Hi Everyone,

I am building a Twitter buzz campaign and I would like your valuable input, here are the details:
    • The landing page will have a signup link and will contain information about both, the product/service being promoted AND the twitter buzz promotion.
    • We will display a two messages on the landing page to be re-twitted (RT).
    • We will track this messages through our twitter account by counting on total RTs per user.
    • For every two RTs (1 for each message) that a user makes they will earn a chance to win an iPod Touch 32 GB. The more Dual-RTs the more chances to win.
    • On the landing page, there will be a check my twitter user stats link, so that users can find out if they are in the top 100 re-twitters and know how many chances they have to win.
    • We will be ruffling 1 iPod per week, during 4 weeks.
Now this is all a fictitious twitter and message but it will serve the purpose of gaining your opinions and hopefully some criticism.

    Message 1
"RT Check the best tennis shoes on promotion all over USA this week on @thebestshoes store. <bit.ly link> #promotions #bestshoesstore"

    Message 2
"RT @bestshoes store has a re-tweet promotion where you can win an iPod Touch 32GB. Details here <bit.ly link> #promotions #bestshoesstore"

The purpose of the promotion is to generate a buzz over the Twitterverse.

The @bestshoes is a tag to track for replies and be able to count the RTs for each user.

the #bestshoesstore purpose is to create a trendy topic and associate it to the #promotions topic.

Let me know your comments. I am very exited about this and when we launch the campaign I will let you all know what it's all about.

    All the best!;)

    Rene

Sometimes it helps to create a campaign that is more interactive.

People love taking photos and designing etc.

Ask people to take a photograph of themselves holding something that will state your company's name or url or whatever you want. People can dress up etc.

People must tweet this on their profile to be eligible including a short message. Most people have imageshack or photobucket accounts where they can upload these photos and they will link to it from their post.

Because the people will dress up or do something interesting, the likelihood of someone clicking on it to check it out is a lot greater. Having your company/url in the picture will definitely make it more memorable.

Offer the same sign up page and link to a different page where the rules are explained. Have your page where people can see how popular they are, but make it fun and entertaining. You can let people vote for them as well, and this will increase the chance that they will tell their friends to go to your site and click on the picture to vote etc.

    Just think more creatively. :)

Thank you for your comments Sarah!

I do like the tell-your-friends-to-vote thing. I would post a "vote" button on my campaign explanation page so that the visiting friends can understand the campaign and engage on it to start ReTwitting as well.

Regarding creativity and photos, I guess we could have people go to Twitpic and post a creative photo with our URL on it and post an entirely different message with it. They wouldn't be able to post the SAME message as the sample one because on a TwitPic post you loose 27 characters at least. So the direct message should be a buzz for the RTs campaign itself, where people will be wondering about the URL in the photos.

    Your comments?

    Great idea actually.

Sorry if I haven't replied earlier, but half of the week I work a lot and then the rest I am usually off. So this is my day off and I am simply relaxing.

Your idea is valid and something you should do.

As far as the url go in the photo they will take of themselves... you can stipulate that it should be on an object. For example... a samurai sword, the bottom of a pot or pan, spray-painted onto a t-shirt they are wearing etc. If you make it fun and creative then people are more likely to participate. I have seen a similar campaign work like this before and it was a huge success.

As far as the buzz sentence goes... offer people several ideas/sentences. The easier you make it for people, the easier it will be for people to do what you need. I wasn't familiar with twitpic, but the sites I mentioned (imageshack and photobucket) seriously...almost most people should have one unless they live in the dark ages. I have owned 3 photobucket accounts for several years now...more than 5 years to be exact. Most people on forums use these services because it is an easy way to upload photos and pictures to your own account and then display it on places like blogger, livejournal, forums, etc. In photobucket you get a link for what you need, whether it is a direct link or an html etc. You can easily say people can upload the photos to that site or any image hosting site. It doesn't matter...as long as they link to it from their tweet and have the sentence to promote your business.
