Yep, I am going to build a niche blog. I was going to create a website instead but using a blog make it a whole lot easier.

I already know that my niche is profitable, is there anything else I need to think about?

    I am basically going to:

    1. Set up a blog specifically for this niche
    2. Add relevant content all at once and removed the date
    3. Put up ads in the right spot
    4. Send targeted traffic
    5. Once blog start to make $500 a month, I will sell.

Is there anything else you can think of that I should think about?

    Thanks!:D

Keyword research is one of the most important things. Find keywords with less sites listed that still have good traffic and are good paying.

This would be a better approach:

    1) Keyword Research like rcj662 stated
    2) Find a domain with good keywords for the niche and buy it
    3) Setup web hosting with a good company (I recommend HostGator.com, that's who I use)
    4) Either design the site or pay somebody to design it for a WordPress Theme
    5) Install WordPress (Wordpress.org, most hosting companys will install it automatically via Fantastico)
    6) Install Wordpress plugins for SEO (specifically Meta tags) and configure wordpress to use SEO-friendly URL's.
    7) Install Google Analytics
    8) Setup Technorati tags and Digg buttons right into the Wordpress template so they appear automatically
    9) Start blogging, one post per day
    10) Install Google Analytics
    11) Write! Write! Write!
    12) Setup a good ping list in Wordpress
    13) After 1 month of steady posting (you should have at least 30 entries by this point), look at Google Analytics and see if you're getting any traffic (you'll probably be getting a little)
    14) Spend a few hours every week searching for similiar sites and setting up link exchanges with them
    15) Spend a few hours every week posting constructive information on related forums and include a link back to your site in your signature
    16) Write! Write! Write!
    17) Repeat 13-16 until you are getting at least 100 unique visitors every day
    18) Put in advertisements, test which ad systems drive more money on your site
    19) Wait at least 3 months (while still writing good content and building links and posting on forums).
    20) Put the site up for sale with a price equal to it's average monthly income for the past 3 months x 10 (so if you made $80, $90, and $100 for the monthly averages put it up for sale for $90 (monthly average) x 10 = $900.

Honestly though, if you get a site to make $500/month, you shouldn't sell it. You should only sell a site that's making that much each month if you don't have the time to manage it anymore.
