building a new computer...what do you think?

    SGZ: No, I probably dont'...but I'm planning ahead. I build computers with a long time frame in mind. my last computer lasted about 5 years....I hope the same for the next and I know there will be a lot of new things coming out in the future. I'm willing to spend the extra little bit for it...

    do you think those will be compat with each other?

    A UPS is a battery....

    It's a surge protector + battery backup... a UPS means: Uninterruptible power supply -- in simple terms, a battery backup.
