I'm building a new one too:

    Celeron 3.0G
2 x 200 Gig Sata drives with Raid Control
    2G Ram
Deluxe M/B with all in one
    256 Mb Vid PCI-E Card

This will replace my old system:

    P3 700Mhz
    256 Ram
    80G HDD
    64 Mb Vid AGP

I should see a little improvement.

Thanks! I want to do some mods for my iPod for it...and I want it to be integrated well with my digital cam.

If I can urge you in one direction, do NOT get a celeron....they may be the worst processor ever created. Especially if you're getting 2gb of ram....spend the extra bit and get a sweet processor, it's worth it.

If you can afford it get a dual cpu

I got one and it's amazing!!!

If you do get a dual though go with an AMD, they beat out intel on every single benchmark test

I'll probably go with the 4200 FX X2

Do you guys think these are compatible with each other?

    http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16813130049
    http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16819103747

Edit: I'm thinking about going with this processor... the 4400 instead... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819103546 .. thoughts on it?

I guess I'm really just trying to get at... will my mobo be compat with my processor? It shows my mobo at 1000mhz FSB compat, but the processor is showing 2000mhz FSB? I couldn't find a 2000mhz FSB mobo though.....maybe I'm just mis-reading it....any ideas on this?

You really don't need to go that high

With the 3800+ I can render Adobe, while designing in Macromedia AND doing a spyware check without any lag :p
