I'm not sure if media kit is even the proper term, but its what we reffered to it as when I worked at boston.com

I am looking for advice on how to build a media kit for a site that averages over 9000 daily visits. It is a music based messageboard and we sell banner ads (as well as run google and yahoo ads) to other record labels and music sellers.

Our current CPM rate is very low and I would love to help increase both our inventory of advertisers as well as our CPM rate.

Does anyone have experience with this type of thing?

It's not that difficult. All you really need to do is build so called "mini website" that has all the stats and sales figures of your site that will entice your "potential advertisers" from wanting to advetise on your site. ESPN has a good one: http://mediakit.espn.go.com/
