    Hi
I have been hearing from various link building masters about, building a blog site related to a main website and then linking/pinging etc back to promote/link back to main website? I hope that sounded correct..
Does this work? and what's the best way to do this, in detail.? thanks

    Hey beazoj,

I have actually tried this myself in the past and had some minor success. I imagine the best way to do it is however you fancy to be honest, but I can give you a breakdown of what I did.

    - Purchased related domain name
    - Created related blog
    - Wrote many related articles
    - Put links into my articles, for the keywords I needed for the main website

This only really works if you create quality articles and promote the blog itself, as well as the main website.

Hope that helps a little. To be honest though I found it wasn't really worth the effort.

It is much easier to build links on already promoted websites, where you can put your keyworks in your link. лол

Yes, it does help out with SEO, although it is time consuming and boring. I have a friend who owns a successful website that used this tactic. He used free wordpress and blogspot blogs, which worked the best, because they get indexed the fastest, and many of these blogs now have a Page Rank of 2 or 3. However, I believe Google will crack down on allowing this tactic work, as they should, since it is spam.
