    hey!

So I have the site in my sig which is my site for our local business.

We want to have an online store that has do it yourself how to articles and products to sell to consumers who are looking online but not in our service area.

That site has a domain age of 2003 and almost 200 back links and already ranks for some decent keywords.

Now I was considering building the article/how to/ commercie site on a different domain but I'm not sure what's best. I'd like to just have one site.

If people type in a search for "cleaning tile" in my local area I don't really want them finding all that info on do it yourself stuff, I want them to just see info about the services that we offer.

But it's easier when I'm doing my link building to just funnel all the pr and text link ads to just one site instead of two.

Is there someway to like target or do something so that people in my area get directed or see my "we do it for you" page instead of the here's how to do it page, just buy our products.

is that called geo targeting...how effective would that be? anyother solutions?

    thoughts?

    That's a tough call.

There are many options on how you could deliver your content and still pull real off-line customers in the Tampa area.

Depends on your intent, and potential, with the bigger, widder audience, addition to the site.

I have a few Idea's. I'll let them stew in my brain for a bit and PM you later.

Yes! any help you can give is appreciated... I'm thinking it really would be best to concentrate the effort on one domain...

Can't you just serve up a different page based on IP?

Or perhaps I could put on all of our marketing material www.mysite.com/tampa and get most everyone who does a type in to go directly to that page... And the /tampa page would have all the keywords for tampa so you would still find it in the serps...

let me know what you think
