Say I have five pages of good, keyword rich content. Should I build links for every page and their separate keywords? Or would building links for the home page raise the SERPS of the content pages on their respective keywords?
Also, since I'm about to start writing my content: How many keywords per article? How many times to repeat each keyword? How long should the article be? Thanks
Best Practice is to optimise each page for particular sub categories on the overall subject of your site. (if this is required) E.g A casino site will be split into five pages 1.roulette 2.slots 3.blackjack 4.poker 5.rummy Each page needs to be rich in content relating to the subject. Choose keywords that are related to roulette or even even words that have a sub relation to roulette as long as roulettes in the phrase. Longtails are key always
Wordtracker Academy has a very good series of articles on keyword optimization. I suggest you read it. My quick summary is that you want to optimize your page for a primary and secondary keyword phrase but you want to make the page long enough (1,000 words and more) so that your page will be relevant for perhaps hundreds of other keyword phrases that you never even thought of. Forget keyword density. Make the page interesting for your reader. If you know the topic you will automatically use dozens of related phrases in the right amount. One quick tip is to do a ~searchterm search on Google to be sure that you have included all the words that Google considers synonyms. The Google Wonder Wheel will also spark some ideas about things you may want to include.
