How about Panoramio? But that depends on the person and the website. My site is heavy on local scenery and photos. A bunch of my pics have been submitted to Panoramio, which displays on Google Earth if that option is chosen. Then links can be put into the description or comment box for the images. Takes a month or two for an image to appear. Wikipedia article editors will allow some links, as long as they are: 1. Very relevant 2. Content or photos found almost nowhere else 3. That the link is suggested in the talk page area, allowing another editor to make the addition
Just keep in mind thet natural links always work, and all you have to do is create good content worth linking to.
