Today I came across a much interesting bug which amazed me when I was using my Windows XP SP3 machine. To start with let me give out the details regarding the OS which I have put in it. It carries a windows XP SP3 with a fedora 10 (a Linux operating system) installed in it. When I happened to reboot my machine from fedora to Windows, it got rebooted & logged in directly into my administrator account without prompting for a password and guess what my admin account does carry a password. But this doesn't happen when I directly boot my machine to Windows. When I do so it does prompt me for a password as it is supposed to do.

I though this could be a mistake on my part, but again I tried the same. After getting into Fedora, I rebooted it again to switch back to Windows & again it logged into Windows without prompting for a password. This I checked with other machines carrying the same configuration too & Windows did behave the same way.

Is this one vulnerability which Microsoft din't know still !!! . Its pretty much a big flaw when it comes to security. Hope Microsoft gets to know about this
