Hi! I'd love if some people could give www.budgetbro.com a spin and let me know how it works for you. It's a monthly spending application written in Ruby on Rails. Free to signup and use! I'm especially interested to see how it works on Mac's (since I don't have one to test with). I know there's some funky behavior with Opera 9. IE6 and FF work best. Thanks! ian
I think the site is too simple, I mean the layout, you could think of extending your knowledge. Besides it feels empty from the first sight. I will not register unless the site will impress me with its content and you don't have much content now. Have some articles, news, calendars, links etc to develop it the idea is a good one
I would agree, the front page does not give enough information about what the site does, and why I should even consider signing up. Add a tutorial or demo of the product. A FAQ would help as well. I tried the site on both Safari and Firefox on my PowerBook, both seemed to work fine. I did keep getting a Ruby error when I would click on Transactions, but I don't think that is a mac problem. I also get errors when I want to go look at past transactions (the little magnifying glass thing). Also, once I set up category, there was no way to add another one. One suggestion would be once in the application, have some sort of control bar in the footer with quick links to things you might like to do, such as add a category, etc. Overall, a good start, just not complete at all, not ready for prime time. Good luck!
Awesome feedback, thanks guys. Agreed about a FAQ/Learn More page. Not sure about the Ruby errors, can't duplicate them on my pc... I'll keep looking.
