Hi Guys, Kind of a newbie here and this might be a dumb question but worth a shot. I am curious if anyone knows how Buckets in Wordpress work for SEO purposes. For instance, I can create a bucket (this has its own unique URL) however i can put this bucket into other pages. I would like to know if this bucket is being recognized as on page content and if search engines are recognizing it as part of the URL it has been placed on OR for its own unique URL. Maybe an example will help. Here is a page from my site: http://iconasys.com/shutter-stream-360-product-photography-software-overview/how-shutter-stream-360-product-photography-turntable-software-works/ and the bucket is under the part where it says: Shutter Stream 360 Product Photography Workflow. Thank you in advnace for any responses. Like i said, i am new to this whole SEO game and I just want to get it right. Thank you!
I never heard of term "WordPress Buckets" before. Is this a new WordPress feature or is a some kind of content type generated with a plugin?
Thanks for the reply Hefaistos. I guess its an alternative to widgets. I was able to find this link: https://wordpress.org/plugins/buckets/ And i went ahead and I just decided to go ahead and get rid of the bucket in case it wasnt doing any value for SEO and rather include the content on the page directly.
Actually saying that I do have another page here that still has the buckets: http://iconasys.com/shutter-stream-product-photography-software-overview/software-features/ (the bucket starts at Image Composition and Capture Features) And here is the link to the individual buckets page: http://iconasys.com/bucket/software-features/ Ideally i would like to use these in my website if they do provide on page SEO value. Any help/knowledge sharing is greatly appreciated
From what I gather that is a structural matter and has nothing(inherently to do with SEO). It does look like a fairly clever way to iterate a few bits of content but its a layout issue. Nigel
If the documentation on that link is anything to go by I'd run for the hills. The SEO impact can be assessed by viewing the source - can you see the bucket in the source? or is it added by javascript later? Does it use microtags? or could they be viewed as duplicate content?
